The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Dr. ![]() She never gave up hope – even in her final hours. ![]() Lisa’s strength and positivity throughout her 2 1⁄2 year-long battle with Metastatic Colon Cancer was an inspiration to many. She enjoyed travelling on many vacations to various countries including a bucket list trip Moorea & Bora Bora (French Polynesia) last October before her health began to fail. Some of her favourite times were spent around the campfire. Lisa loved to camp with family and friends. Lisa enjoyed a rewarding career with the Langley School District, most of which was at Richard Bulpitt Elementary, where she was highly respected and loved by her co-workers (who referred to her as their “Work Mom”) and by her students. Lisa was also awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for her past contributions to the Rotary Club of White Rock.Īfter the passing of Tyler in 2008, Lisa returned to school and graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University at the top of her class with a Certificate as a Special Education Teaching Assistant. She spent almost 15 years coaching Curling and Bocce with Langley Special Olympics where she was awarded the Coach of the Year for her efforts. They went on to live for brief periods in Calgary and White Rock before settling in the Walnut Grove area of North Langley.Īs a parent, Lisa was active in her boys’ schools and sports and was a Founder and First Treasurer/Secretary for the North Langley Basketball Association. Soon after, she met Everett and they married in June of 1985. In the same year, at the age of 17, Lisa was crowned First Princess in the Miss White Rock Pageant. Lisa was born in New Westminster on October 22nd, 1964 and was raised in Coquitlam before moving to White Rock at the age of 15 where she attended Earl Marriott Secondary School, graduating in 1982. Lisa is survived by her husband of 36 years, Everett, her son Devan and his partner Hilary, brother Rod Kenyon and his wife Shelly, stepmom Julie, stepbrothers & sisters and many nieces & nephews. Lisa was predeceased by her son Tyler (2008), her mother Helen Bath (2017), her father Rick Kenyon (2018) and her Stepdad Bert Bath (2007). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Marie McLaren in the early hours of February 4th, 2022, at the age of 57.
